SUMMARY:Grant Writing Community of Practice\, July 9\, 2026
DESCRIPTION:Many nonprofits struggle to secure funding\, not because they lack passion\, but because they lack the systems\, structure\, and positioning funders expect to see. In this session\, participants will explore the most common reasons grant applications fail before the writing process even begins. \nThis class focuses on grant readiness\, organizational positioning\, and fundability. Participants will learn what funders actually evaluate when reviewing proposals\, how weak internal systems impact funding decisions\, and what separates fundable organizations from those constantly chasing grants without results. \nTopics include:\n• grant readiness\n• mission clarity\n• measurable impact\n• internal systems\n• common nonprofit gaps\n• alignment between programs and funding opportunities \nParticipants will leave with a completed Grant Readiness Assessment designed to identify strengths\, weaknesses\, and immediate opportunities for improvement within their organization. \nPlease RSVP to attend. All registered participants will receive a calendar invitation via email containing the Zoom link for virtual attendance. If attending in person\, please plan to arrive at Collaboratory at least 10 minutes before the event begins.

SUMMARY:Impact Skills Series: What Could We Do Differently?
DESCRIPTION:When you’re deep in the work\, it’s easy to default to familiar solutions…even when they’re not working. This session helps participants break out of “we’ve always done it this way” thinking and practice generating bold\, responsible alternatives. You’ll learn structured ideation techniques\, how to reframe constraints as design inputs\, and how to expand the solution space without losing focus. Expect creative exercises that feel energizing but purposeful. Bring an open mind and willingness to explore. This session builds on earlier insights to ensure new ideas are grounded in reality\, not guesswork.

SUMMARY:Grant Writing Community of Practice\, August 6\, 2026
DESCRIPTION:Building a Fundable Program \nStrong funding starts with strong programming. In this session\, participants will learn how to design programs that are measurable\, strategic\, and attractive to funders. The focus will be on building programs that clearly communicate impact\, outcomes\, and community value. \nParticipants will explore the difference between outputs and outcomes\, how to build measurable objectives\, and why program structure directly impacts grant success. The session will also cover participant feedback\, community engagement\, and the importance of building programs with evaluation and reporting in mind from the beginning. \nTopics include:\n• program design\n• goals and objectives\n• outputs vs outcomes\n• measurable impact\n• community need and buy-in\n• theory of change\n• reporting readiness \nParticipants will leave with a Program Outline and Outcomes Worksheet that can be used as a foundation for future grant applications and organizational planning. \nPlease RSVP to attend. All registered participants will receive a calendar invitation via email containing the Zoom link for virtual attendance. If attending in person\, please plan to arrive at Collaboratory at least 10 minutes before the event begins.

SUMMARY:Impact Skills Series: How Will We Make It Happen?
DESCRIPTION:Remember in Finding Nemo when they’re told by those sassy fish\, “When you get to the trench\, swim through it…not over it.” That trench is implementation. Most people don’t struggle here because they didn’t plan…it’s because breaking big\, meaningful ideas into small\, imperfect steps feels daunting. This session focuses on learning how to swim through the trench: making big ideas small\, identifying what truly needs to happen first\, and charting progress without waiting for certainty. Expect practical tools for sequencing work\, testing assumptions\, and moving forward despite discomfort. Bring one idea that excites you and feels intimidating. This session helps turn insight into momentum by teaching participants how to move through uncertainty rather than around it.

SUMMARY:Impact Lab II
DESCRIPTION:This final Impact Lab is designed as advanced office hours focused on refinement\, decision-making\, and next steps. Participants bring their active projects\, draft concepts\, experiments\, or implementation plans and receive structured support to sharpen\, simplify\, and move forward. Expect facilitated reflection\, targeted feedback\, and practical guidance to help you determine what to prioritize\, test\, or let go. Come prepared with specific questions or decisions you’re facing. This session closes the 6-part series by ensuring participants leave with clarity\, momentum\, and a concrete path forward.
